Carly Quigley can’t believe her brother’s best friend, the man who jilted her years ago, is at her door. He claims her brother asked him to check in on her niece and their fixer-upper, but all either of them can focus on is their undeniable attraction. Carly knows Lance is counting down the hours to leave, which makes him the wrong man for her. Unfortunately, the wrong man has become oh-so-tempting.

Bidding on the Bachelor Easter Eggs

BotB CoverToday is release day for my latest book! BIDDING ON THE BACHELOR is book 2 in the Saved by the Blog series. This book is about Carissa and Jasper, the hottest couple back in high school. Carissa broke up with Jasper after graduation and hasn’t been heard of since…until she shows up in Bayside ten years later to find Jasper is the most sought after bachelor in town. Will Jasper and Carissa be able to pick up where they left off? Or will the ubiquitous Bayside Blogger put a cramp in their reunion?

To celebrate BIDDING ON THE BACHELOR’s release, I thought it would be fun to share a couple Easter Eggs from the book. So sit back, relax, and enjoy. Buy links are at the end.

Easter Egg #1

There is a chapter in the book when Carissa and Jasper share a meal of pizza and red wine. This just happens to be my absolute favorite meal on the planet. Of course, I do prefer anchovies on my pizza. They also have a peach pie later that night, which is my favorite dessert.

Easter Egg #2

Carissa is staying at her aunt’s house. When she walks in she is overwhelmed with the décor, which reminds her of The Golden Girls. I love The Golden Girls! Love, love, love! I used to watch it with my Nunnie, I still watch the reruns today, and my friends and I often discuss Dorothy, Rose, Blanche and Sophia and sing the theme song. “Thank you for being a friend….”

Easter Egg #3

The first time Carissa and Jasper interact with each other after their ten years apart, they are in a dive bar. Carissa is drinking tequila and beer, and seeing her getting tipsy, Jasper orders her mozzarella sticks. Another favorite food of mine. Especially at bars.

Easter Egg #4

Carissa is a caterer. At least, she is trying to be. She ends up catering a ladies’ tea. I adore going to tea. Although, I can count on one hand how many times I’ve gone to tea, but I love it. The tiny sammies, the cookies, the clotted cream. Yum, yum, yum.

Easter Egg #5

When Jasper and Carissa were in high school, they spent a lot of time hanging out at a used bookstore. Back when I was in high school, my BFFs Amber and Danielle and I would go to the movies every Friday. Before cell phones, Fandango and picking seats, we would have to get to the movie theater early to make sure we could get tickets. Then we would head to the mall and camp out at Walden Books or B. Dalton. Usually sit on the floor and peruse the psychic and palm reading books.

Bonus Egg

Saved by the Bell is my ultimate, huge, gigantic, glittery Easter Egg. It is my all-time favorite TV show. And it was a huge part of my adolescence. I’m so thrilled I could include it in this series.

For those who read book 1, FALLING FOR THE RIGHT BROTHER, and kept asking me about Jasper, guess what? This is Jasper’s story!

Another roll of the dice

Big news, fair readers! Bayside High’s favorite It Girl is back. Would you have bet Carissa Blackwell would ever return? Ten years ago, she crushed Jasper Dumont’s heart under her Jimmy Choos and left town for a bigger, better life. Her return raises one question: What is she running from (or is it to) now?

Perhaps Jasper knows? One look at Carissa and he fell in the bay! (Rich, single and devastatingly handsome, Jasper’s our catch of the day.) That icy plunge should have brought him to his senses, yet “Casper” has been spotted together all over town. Does this mean Bayside’s legendary couple may reunite? The stakes are high, but the Bayside Blogger’s money is riding on love!

Excerpt – Falling for the Right Brother

FftRB CoverTime for an exclusive excerpt from my next book, Falling for the Right Brother, book 1 in the Saved by the Blog series.

Blurb:

This just in, fair readers! That gorgeous new woman about town is none other than formerly frumpy Elle Owens. Apparently Miss Elle has been spotted with yummy contractor Cam Dumont…but we thought her heart belonged to his little brother. Are Cam and Elle a new couple? If this is love, let’s hope she’s picked the right brother. The Bayside Blogger will keep you posted.

Excerpt:

He liked being around Elle. Most women wanted to talk about their feelings. Not that there was anything wrong with that when it was needed. But there was a lot to be said for enjoying a quiet moment.

Plus, she could hold her own with him.

And she could cook.

And she was gorgeous.

Sneaking a glance at her, he felt his heart practically stop. She’d let her hair out of its ponytail. Now the wind was moving through it, light brown strands flying around her face. The setting sun cast an aura over her that highlighted her smooth skin. Awash in light, with a dreamy expression on her face, she looked serene, calm. Exquisite.

Exquisite? Ah, hell. He liked her.

“Damn.”

She turned her head at his oath. “What was that?” she asked, an amused expression on her face.

He couldn’t like her. Not if she had any feelings for his brother. That wouldn’t be right.

All he wanted to do was kiss her. With his body tensed and primed at her nearness, he desperately wanted to draw her to him. He wanted those lips on his, those arms around him.

“Cam?”

He met her curious gaze. Why couldn’t she be weird or crazy or just not his type?

“What are you thinking?” she wondered aloud.

“Do you still have feelings for my brother?” he blurted. Idiot. Her face fell and then he cursed himself for that. “Sorry, it’s none of my business.”

“It’s okay,” she said, waving her hand. “Jasper…I never really knew Jasper.”

“You were in the same class.” It sounded like an accusation.

“That doesn’t mean anything.,” she said slowly, taking a step toward him. “Dinner last night was the longest we’ve ever talked.”

It hit Cam then, crystal clear. Jealousy over that dinner was what had been bothering him all day. What had kept him awake the night before.

Feeling irritated even now, he wanted to pace. But she was standing so close. He could smell her perfume, a flowery scent that mixed with the aromas from the kitchen. Shouldn’t go together, but to him, it was intoxicating.

“Look, Elle, just tell me, once and for all, do you have feelings for my brother?”

“No,” she practically screamed. “And for the record, I would never go after someone who was taken.”

“Great. I don’t want you to do that.”

“Then what do you want, Cam?”

“I want to kiss you.”

“So kiss me.”

I hope you enjoyed that little sneak peek into Falling for the Right Brother, which you can pre-order now.

New Year, New Book, New Series

You may have noticed that I haven’t had any new books out in 2017. That’s because I’ve been waiting until now to share my newest release. I’m thrilled to introduce a brand new series I’m writing for Harlequin Special Edition called…Saved by the Blog. Initiate glitter toss.

Book 1 is called Falling for the Right Brother and the release date is right around the corner. Print book (that’s right, this one comes out in paperback) is May 23 and the e-book is available June 1. Isn’t this cover gorgeous!

FftRB Cover

I describe this first book as a combination of Gossip Girl and Sabrina. But set in Virginia on the Chesapeake Bay. It’s fabulous and I hope everyone loves reading it as much as I loved writing it.

Here are the other books in the Saved by the Blog series:

Bidding on the Bachelor, October 2017
Smitten with the Boss, January 2018

Want more details? Check out the blurb and the buy links below. Stay tuned for a sneak peek of Falling for the Right Brother next week. Until then, happy reading….

Saved by the blog!

This just in, fair readers! Chic and stunning, that gorgeous new woman about town is none other than our very own little Ellie—now Elle—Owens. She’s a far cry from the frumpy, bookish student we used to know, but then, living in Italy will do that to a girl! Still, this blogger can’t forget the infamous video that caused her to leave!

Apparently Miss Elle has been spotted with yummy contractor Cam Dumont…but we thought her heart belonged to his little brother. Are Cam and Elle a new couple? They were seen cooling their passions in the bay…in April! If this is love, let’s hope she’s swimming with the right brother. The Bayside Blogger will keep you posted.

Two Truths, One Lie

Happy 2015!!!

I hope you all had wonderful holidays and your new year is off to a sparkly start!

I blogged at the Waterworld Mermaid site today and am re-posting my blog here. I hope you enjoy!

*********************************************************************************************

I had two books come out in 2014, which adds up to one fabulous year. In honor of my glittertastic 2014, I’m playing a couple rounds of Two Truths, One Lie. Can you separate the facts from fiction?

Round One

  1. My novella, Flirting with the Competition, came out with Entangled Publishing in October.
  2. In my novella, two competitors get stuck in an elevator, which was based on an actual elevator incident that happened in my life.
  3. I set the story in Washington, DC-area, because I live in Washington, DC-area.

kerri book

Round Two

  1. My contemporary novel, The Best Kind of Love, came out with Soul Mate Publishing in December.
  2. I subconsciously based the fictional town of Blue Lake in the story on my hometown of Monessen, PA.
  3. I named my main character Penelope because that’s my middle name.

Round Three

  1. It took me over a decade of trying before I got published.
  2. An editor once told me she wouldn’t consider my manuscript because I was too young.
  3. I started writing my first romance novel after a summer of reading Nora Roberts books.

Round Four

  1. Even though I’m a proud member of the Waterworld Mermaids, I am actually terrified of the idea of mermaids.
  2. I often wish my adorable dog, Harry, had opposable thumbs so we could text throughout the day.
  3. My favorite color is purple.

Harry loves his mommy

Round Five

  1. My Nunnie declared I was a writer when I was a little girl so I just always believed her.
  2. I really love doing revisions and edits.
  3. I had so much fun putting this post together!

What are the answers??? I’m not going to tell you! Okay, okay, maybe I’ll tell you, since you were all such great sports. Answers will be in the comments later today. Happy guessing!
